Petzl SPIN L1D Pulley

The Petzl SPIN L1D is a single swivel pulley with a becket, an extra attachment point below the sheave, and sealed ball-bearing efficiency. Tree crews use it to build compact haul systems, tension speed lines, and redirect ropes with low friction.

What the becket adds

A becket is an extra attachment point on the pulley. It lets you tie or clip the end of the rope directly to the pulley, which is how you build a compact 3:1 or 5:1 with fewer carabiners. The swivel keeps strands from twisting as you haul.

On tree jobs that might be a quick system to tension a speed line, pull a lean out of a tree, or lift a stuck saw. Pair it with the SPIN L2 and other rigging pulleys for higher ratios.

Because the side plates open while the pulley stays clipped, you can load the rope in mid-system without dropping anything over the work zone.

Use and care

Stay inside the marked rope range and rating and plan forces before you pull, because mechanical advantage makes overloading easy.

Before each use, spin the sheave, check the swivel and becket for wear or deformation, and confirm the side plates close fully. Rinse and dry it after dirty jobs. Life-support use must follow the maker's instructions, ANSI Z133, and your training.

Retire it after a drop from height onto a hard surface unless Petzl's guidance says otherwise, and keep a record of its use.
