RiggingPro grade

The Petzl SPIN L2 is a double pulley with a built-in swivel and sealed ball-bearing sheaves, made for haul systems and rope work where efficiency matters. Tree crews use it to build mechanical advantage for tensioning lines, pulling tops, and lifting gear.

Why a double pulley with a swivel

A double pulley lets you build higher ratios, such as a 4:1 or 5:1, with fewer parts. The integrated swivel lets the pulley turn to line up with the load, so the rope strands do not twist around each other as you haul. That matters when you are pulling a lean out of a tree or tensioning a speed line across a yard.

Petzl's side plates open so you can load the rope without unclipping the pulley from its anchor. See our other rigging pulleys for single options to pair it with.

Sealed ball bearings keep friction low, so more of your pull goes into the load. That matters on long hauls or when you are building a high ratio system.

Use and care

Check the marked rope range and rating and stay well within them. Mechanical advantage multiplies your pull, which makes it easy to overload a sling, an anchor, or a tree, so plan the forces before you start.

Before each use, spin both sheaves, test the swivel, and check the side plates for cracks or deformation. Rinse off grit and sap and let it dry. If it becomes part of a rescue or life-support system, life-support use must follow ANSI Z133, the manufacturer's instructions, and your training.
