Firm, spliceable 3/8 in polyester line for light rigging, slings and tag lines.
Samson Tenex 3/8 is a 12-strand polyester single braid that tree crews use for light rigging, homemade slings, prusiks, loopies and tag lines. The reinforced version is built for extra abrasion resistance, so it holds up better when dragged through bark and brush.
Tenex is a go-to line for crews who splice their own gear. At 3/8 in it is the right size for eye-to-eye slings, false crotch loopies, light lowering of small wood and pulling lines. The 12-strand braid is simple to bury-splice, so you can make up exactly the lengths you need.
Polyester keeps stretch low and resists sunlight and abrasion better than nylon, which helps a line that lives in the bed of a truck. The reinforced build gives it a bit more toughness when it rubs over bark and stubs.
It also makes a good tag line for steering pieces, and a pull line for setting heavier rigging rope in the tree.
This is light-duty rigging rope. Size your rigging to the load with a healthy safety margin, and never use rigging line for climbing. Shock loads from free-falling wood can be many times the piece's weight, so keep pieces small with 3/8 line.
Inspect for cuts, melted or glazed spots and crushed sections before use, and retire any length that has been shock loaded hard or cut. See heavier lines in our rigging rope section.
Keep it coiled and stored dry and out of direct sun to get the longest life from it.

No. It is a rigging and utility line, not a life-support climbing rope.
Yes. Its 12-strand single braid takes a standard bury splice with a fid, which is why crews use it for slings and loopies.
