RiggingPro grade

The ISC medium rigging pulley is a mid-size rigging block made for rope up to 20mm, which covers the heavier lines crews use on removals. This version has a grey frame and a green sheave, and it fills the gap between compact pulleys and the largest blocks.

A block for heavier removals

When you are rigging tops and leaders on a removal, you need a block that can take a heavier line and the shock that comes with blocking wood. The medium ISC rigging pulley takes rope up to 20mm, so it works with the 5/8 and 3/4 inch class lines many crews run for removals.

It is heavier than a compact pulley, but far more appropriate for big pieces. Compare it with other rigging blocks to find the right size for your work.

Because the frame is built for a heavier line, it also tolerates the wear of daily removal work better than smaller pulleys. Pair it with a rigging sling and lowering device rated for the same rope and load range.

Rating and inspection

Read the marked rating on the pulley before use and plan for the rigging point to see close to double the line load. Match the sling, rope, and lowering device to the same working range.

Inspect the sheave, side plates, and axle before every job, looking for cracks, bends, grooves, and play. Retire the pulley after a severe shock load or any damage you cannot rule out. Rigging should follow ANSI Z133 and the maker's instructions.

Store it clean and dry and keep a simple record of the jobs it has done.
