ISC Compact Rigging Pulley

The ISC compact rigging pulley is a small block for redirects and lighter rigging where a full-size block is more than you need. Green side plates and a grey wheel make it easy to pick out of the bag.

Where a compact pulley fits

Not every rigging job needs a heavy block. A compact pulley earns its place on speed lines, redirects that steer a lowering line around an obstacle, and simple lift or tensioning setups where the forces stay moderate. It is lighter to carry up and quicker to hang than a full-size block.

Open the side plates, drop the rope over the sheave and close it back up, so you can set it without threading an end. Hang it from a sling or rated connector at the anchor point.

Because it is small, it is also handy as a redirect on a lowering line that needs to clear a roof edge or fence, or as part of a simple mechanical advantage setup for tensioning a line before a cut.

Working within its rating

Check the rating marked on the pulley and the rope diameter it is built for before you put it in a system. Remember that a redirect can see close to double the load on the line, and a dropped piece adds shock on top of that. If the job calls for catching big wood, step up to a proper rigging block.
