DMM XS Impact Block

The DMM XS Impact Block is the smallest size in DMM's Impact Block range, made for lighter arborist rigging. It gives you a proper rigging block for small wood and redirects without the weight of a full-size block.

Where the XS fits

Most rigging does not involve giant wood. Pruning, reductions and smaller removals need a block to control limbs and tops, and a smaller block is easier to set and carry. The XS gives you DMM's Impact design in a size suited to those jobs.

It also works well as a redirect or as a second block in a system to steer a lowering line.

The smaller size also makes it easier to set from the climbing position. Hang it from a sling or rated connector, drop the lowering line over the sheave and close the plates, then let the ground crew take the load through a friction device at the base. For crews that rig small wood often, a block this size quickly becomes the one that goes up on most climbs.

Stay within its limits

Read the ratings marked on the block and match rope diameter to what it is built for. Rigging forces rise quickly when a piece drops, so plan your cuts to keep shock loads within the block's working limits. For heavy wood, step up to a larger block.
