About At Height
Tree work mixes climbing, aerial lifts and ladders, and each of those calls for the right fall protection and positioning gear. Before you buy, be clear about whether a piece is meant for climbing in the tree, bucket work or general fall arrest, since the standards and use cases differ.
Keep records of when gear went into service, store it out of the sun and away from fuel and chemicals, and retire it after a fall or when inspection turns up damage. Any gear that holds a person must meet the applicable standard (ANSI Z133 and the manufacturer's instructions), be inspected before each use, and be used by trained climbers.
