11mm Sterling TriTech cut to length for custom lanyards and fliplines.
Sterling TriTech 11mm rope is sold by the foot so you can build a custom lanyard, flipline, or positioning component at the exact length you want. It is the same rope Sterling uses in its TriTech lanyards.
Off-the-shelf lanyards come in a few lengths. If you climb big spars, work in a bucket, or just like a specific length, buying rope by the foot lets you build exactly what you need and re-use your existing snap and adjuster.
Measure your current lanyard, then add enough for terminations: a sewn eye, a spliced eye, or a stopper knot all take rope. Browse our tech cordage section for hitch cord and other cut-to-length rope.
Any eye or termination used for life support must be made by a qualified person using a method the rope maker approves, or tied with a knot you have been trained on. A home-made splice in rope you are not familiar with is not a shortcut worth taking.
Inspect the rope before each climb for cuts, glazing, and stiff or flat spots, and keep the saw well clear of any rope lanyard. Treat it as life-support equipment: it must meet ANSI Z133 and the manufacturer's instructions, be inspected before every climb, and be used only by trained climbers.
Keep a record of when the lanyard was built and what went into it, so you know its age and can retire it on schedule.

Measure the working length you want and add enough for your terminations. When in doubt, order a little extra.
Only if you are trained in a splice the manufacturer approves for this rope. Otherwise have it spliced by a qualified splicer.
